I thought the Bilsborrow walk worked out really well despite the traffic delay getting there, a good turn out and the weather was kind to us.
Our next outing, Sunday 16th February at 2 pm, will be from ASDA car aprk at Clayton Brook/Clayton Green 2pm meet at the Sports Centre Entrance by the 5 a side pitch. Our trek will take in Green Wood, Cam Lane & Cottage, Clayton Brook House Farm, Walton Summit, Tramway, Kellet Lane, Seed Lee, M61 Bridge, M65 Subway, Pippin Street, Chesham Farm, M61 Subway, Clayton Brook, St Bedes' and return. A smashing local walk put together by Raymond, 4.5 miles, basically flat, a tiny bit sloppy here and there, 1 stile and some great views of North Preston and beyond. Fancy buying a cottage well Cam Cottage maybe just for you.
How to get there: Get on the A6 at Bamber Bridge towards Chorley over the M6 then over M65, through the roundabout, up hill to next roundabout and turn right into Clayton Green Road, then right turn into ASDA, you will see Sports Centre on your right. Post Code PR6 7JY. 2pm start.
Hope you can make what will be a walk along pathways I doubt you know even existed.
See you there 16.2.20 at 2 pm.
The next walk dates for your diaries are:
Sunday 15th Mar 2020 Shorter Walk.
Saturday 18th April 2020 Longer Walk.
We have a couple of, ‘new, to us,’ shorter walks which I am sure you will find very enjoyable.
From Guys & Owd Nells around Bilsborrow.
From the old Red Rock Station 1869 (Lancashire Union Joint Railway). Arley & Adlington area.
As you know our group is in it's 10th year of walking together and Ray, John and I have compiled a list of the walks we have done during this time, we thought you might find it interesting to see where and when we did each walk and perhaps suggest a repeat of any of particular interest to you. I hope you, like me, enjoy reading the list and recalling what has been a most enjoyable 10 years of walking and fellowship.
Best Regards, Keep Smilein’
